How Blu Ocean Teams works

A season,
start to finish.

Three check ins. Thirty statements. One conversation per athlete that is about something real. Scroll, and watch it build.

The problem

Every athlete carries two pictures of themselves.

The one they see. The one their coach sees. Most seasons, the two never meet. The pep talk is too short and the stat sheet says nothing about habits.

How I see me
How coach sees me
Where they overlap is where development starts
The Blu Print

Fifteen habits. Five tiers. Built from the ground up.

Start at the bottom. Nothing above it stands without it.Foundation. Work Ethic, Ownership, Discipline, Energy, Readiness. The habits that carry everything above them.Team. Belonging, Teamwork, Commitment, Team First. How an athlete shows up for the people beside them.Craft. Craft, Persistence, Awareness. The daily work of getting better at the game itself.Pressure. Composure, Confidence. What holds when the moment gets big.Peak. Rise. Performing at your best when your best is needed, and lifting others to do the same. Each block is scored out of 8. The whole Blu Print is out of 120. The same fifteen blocks for every sport.

Inside a block

Two statements. Five answers. Eight minutes on a phone.

Thirty statements, two for each block, each answered Strongly disagree through Strongly agree. No login. The athlete opens a team link, finds their name, and starts.

Discipline, statement 1 of 2

I keep my emotions and my habits under control when things are not going my way.

Nothing here is a grade. There is no score on the finish screen.
Self Scout and Coach Scout

Then the skills. Rated twice.

The athlete rates 25 skills, 1 to 4. The coach rates the same list without looking. When the two land together, that is agreement. When they land two apart, that is the conversation.

Three check ins a season. Four seasons a career.

Do it again. Now you can see change.

Start of Season sets the line. Midseason shows what moved. End of Season shows the whole arc. The season average goes on the athlete's record, and next year starts a new line against it.

The Board

The coach opens the app and knows who to talk to first.

Not a spreadsheet. A short list, ranked by what is flagged: a drop since the start, a gap on three skills, a survey never answered.

The conversation

Ten minutes. One question written from the athlete's own answers.

The app writes the opener from the lowest block and the widest skill gap. The coach reads it, then stops talking. They leave with one focus, not five.

Discipline. Control of your emotions and your habits.
What Marcus will practise

The plan follows them home.

A personal link, no password. Their focus, their coach's words, and one question each day. No teammates, no ranks, no leaderboard. Just their own line, moving.

Thank you for scrolling to the end. I played college basketball, and the moments that changed me as a player were conversations with coaches who saw something I could not see yet. We built Blu Ocean so every coach can start those conversations on purpose.
